Please read these terms carefully. By creating an account or using PollSlide, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and PollSlide Technologies LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("PollSlide", "we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using PollSlide at pollslide.com or app.pollslide.com (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent.

2. Description of service

PollSlide is a live audience polling platform that allows presenters to create polls and quizzes, share them with audiences via QR codes, and view live results. The Service includes:

  • A web-based presenter application at app.pollslide.com
  • A participant-facing answer page accessible by QR code
  • A macOS companion application ("PollSlide Companion") for live result display during presentations
  • Real-time data synchronisation via Google Firebase

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice where practicable.

We are committed to making the Service accessible. See our Accessibility Statement for the standard we target (WCAG 2.1 AA / EN 301 549), what works today, known limitations, and how to reach us if you encounter a barrier.

3. Accounts and registration

To access the full Service you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your password and accept responsibility for all activity under your account
  • Notify us immediately at help@pollslide.com of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Not share your account credentials with third parties

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security risk.

Audience participants and minors

Audience participants do not need an account — they join a session via QR code or session code and provide at most a display name and their answers. Where an audience includes children (for example a school class), the presenter and their organisation are responsible for obtaining any consents and authorisations required by applicable law (for example COPPA school authorisation in the US, or parental consent under GDPR Article 8 in the EU/EEA) and for supervising the session. PollSlide does not direct the Service to children, shows participants no advertising, and does not build profiles of participants. See our Privacy Policy and Trust & Safety pages.

4. Plans, billing and payments

Free plan

The Free plan is provided at no charge with limitations including a maximum of 25 participants per poll session and 3 saved presentations. We may change free plan limits at any time with 30 days' notice.

Paid plans

Paid subscriptions (Pro and Team) are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle. Prices are listed at pollslide.com/pricing and are in US dollars. All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes.

Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on first-time paid subscriptions. After 14 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. To request a refund contact help@pollslide.com.

EU/UK consumers — 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason. By purchasing a subscription you request that the digital service begins immediately. Our 14-day money-back guarantee above is designed to match or exceed this statutory right: to exercise it, email help@pollslide.com within 14 days of your first purchase and we will refund the payment in full, using the same payment method you used. Your statutory rights under local consumer law remain unaffected.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid features until then.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will notify you by email. After a grace period of 7 days, your account will be downgraded to the Free plan.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Create or distribute polls that are fraudulent, misleading, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or that infringe third-party rights
  • Collect sensitive personal data (health information, financial details, government identification) through polls without explicit, informed participant consent
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, spider, or use automated means to access the Service beyond what is permitted by our API
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to any system
  • Use the Service to spam or send unsolicited communications
  • Impersonate PollSlide or any other person or entity
  • Resell or sublicense the Service without written authorisation

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate this section without prior notice.

Reporting content (notice and action)

Anyone — participant, presenter, or third party — can report content they believe is illegal or violates these Terms by emailing help@pollslide.com with the session code and a description (see Trust & Safety for what to include). We review reports promptly, remove or disable access to content where appropriate, may suspend the session or account responsible, and will inform the reporter of the outcome where contact details are provided.

6. Your content

Ownership: You retain ownership of any content you upload or create within the Service, including question text, answer options, images, and videos ("User Content").

Licence to us: By using the Service, you grant PollSlide a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and transmit your User Content solely as necessary to provide the Service.

Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that you have all rights necessary to share it and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

Participant data: Participant responses (names and answers) are User Content belonging to you as the poll creator. Participants submit their data directly to your session. You are responsible for complying with applicable data protection laws regarding that data.

Data processing roles: With respect to personal data collected from your participants, you act as the data controller and PollSlide acts as a data processor, processing that data on your behalf and in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Moderation and audience-submitted content: Some User Content — including free-text answers, participant display names, and live audience questions — is submitted by your audience in real time and may be displayed immediately. PollSlide provides automated safeguards on a reasonable-efforts basis, including a profanity filter, link/spam filtering, AI image safety filtering, and presenter moderation controls (hide, mark answered, remove, and reset). These safeguards are provided "as is", are not guaranteed to detect or remove all objectionable content, and do not constitute a warranty. PollSlide does not pre-screen, monitor, or endorse User Content or audience submissions and is not responsible or liable for them. As the host of a session, you are solely responsible for moderating your own session and the content presented to your audience. PollSlide may, but is under no obligation to, review, remove, or restrict any content or suspend any session or account. To report content that violates these Terms, contact help@pollslide.com.

7. Intellectual property

The PollSlide name, logo, website design, application code, and all associated intellectual property are owned by PollSlide Technologies LLC. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks or other intellectual property beyond what is necessary to use the Service.

The macOS Companion application is provided under a limited, non-transferable licence for personal use with your PollSlide account. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute it.

8. Privacy and data

Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you agree to the Privacy Policy.

For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal data as described in the Privacy Policy and you have rights under the GDPR as detailed there.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY CONTENT ON THE SERVICE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so the above exclusions may not fully apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, POLLSLIDE TECHNOLOGIES LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities
  • Damages resulting from unauthorised access to your account or User Content

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.

These limitations apply regardless of the form of action (contract, tort, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PollSlide Technologies LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by emailing help@pollslide.com or using the account deletion function in the Service. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

We may terminate or suspend your access at any time for violation of these Terms, or for any other reason with 30 days' notice (immediately in cases of serious violations, security threats, or fraud).

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Dispute resolution: You and PollSlide agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally first by contacting help@pollslide.com. If informal resolution fails after 30 days, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, conducted in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Class action waiver: You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

EU/EEA users: Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under EU law, including the right to bring claims before your local courts for consumer disputes.

Language: These Terms are written in English. Any translation is provided for convenience only. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version governs, except where the law of your country of residence does not allow this.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email (to the address on your account) and by posting a notice in the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Artificial intelligence features (Polly)

PollSlide includes optional AI-assisted features, which we refer to collectively as "Polly" — for example, generating draft poll, quiz, survey and study questions from a topic or an uploaded document, and summarising or surfacing insights from audience responses. In accordance with our transparency obligations, including under the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689):

  • You are interacting with an AI system. Content produced by Polly is generated by artificial intelligence, is presented to you clearly labelled as AI-generated (for example, with an "AI" or "Polly" indicator), and is provided as a draft starting point.
  • AI output can be wrong. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable for your context. You are responsible for reviewing, editing and approving any AI-generated content before you present or publish it. You remain the author and controller of the content you choose to use.
  • No automated decisions about people. Polly does not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about your audience members. It does not grade, rank, profile or score identifiable participants; presenters remain in control of what is shown and how responses are used.
  • How your inputs are handled. Prompts and documents you submit to Polly are processed by our AI providers solely to return a result to you and are not used by us to train foundation models. Our AI subprocessors are listed on our Subprocessors page, and processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy and, for business customers, our Data Processing Agreement.
  • Acceptable use. You must not use Polly to generate content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or otherwise prohibited under Section 5 (Acceptable use), and you must not present AI-generated content as human-authored where doing so would mislead your audience.
